Authorities are saying that a 19-year-old Stanton man has been killed in an Orange County car accident at a Garden Grove intersection. The Orange County Register reports that the fatal car crash occurred early morning on November 1, 2009 at the intersection of Orangewood and Faye avenues when two cars collided with each other. Both cars overturned. Two seriously injured individuals were transported to an area hospital. One of them died shortly afterward. Police say drugs or alcohol was not involved in this accident. The teen who died is said to have been a passenger in one of the vehicles.
My heart goes out to those who were involved in this horrific car accident. I especially offer my heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the young man who was killed. Please keep this grieving family in your prayers.

In 2007, seven individuals died and 837 were injured according to California Highway Patrol's traffic accident statistics. Countywide, serious car accidents claimed 178 lives and caused 14,185 injuries during the same period.
At this point, there are more questions than answers as far as this incident is concerned. There are very few details in this report about how or why this accident occurred. However, it is apparent that one of the drivers is at fault for this accident. Obviously, this car accident occurred because one of the drivers did not yield right-of-way at the intersection or may have run a red light.
Car Accident Liability Issues
If it is determined that one of the drivers was negligent, then he or she could be held liable for the accident and injuries caused. If this accident was caused by a dangerous condition at that Garden Grove intersection, then the city or governmental agency responsible for maintaining that roadway could be held liable. Please remember that any claim against a governmental agency in California must be filed within 180 days of the accident or injury.
