Two Injured in San Diego Car Accident
Two people sustained injuries in a San Diego car accident after a driver lost control of her vehicle and caused a head-on collision on the Interstate 8 near Alpine. The San Diego Union-Tribune reports that the injury crash occurred the night of February 7, 2010 west of Route 79. A 66-year-old woman driving a 1998 Chevy Lumina westbound veered off the freeway, went over the center divide and into the other side.
The Lumina then struck two cars traveling in the eastbound lanes. The woman had to be extricated from her car following the crash and sustained a fractured ankle and internal injuries. A 27-year-old driver in a 2007 Honda Accord, which was struck head-on by the Lumina, was hospitalized with injuries. A 34-year-old driver of the second vehicle struck by the Lumina escaped without injuries.
I hope the injured victims recover quickly and completely from their injuries. I also hope this accident did not cause any catastrophic injuries.

Car Accident Causes
This news report leaves a number of questions unanswered. We do not know what caused the woman to lose control of the Lumina. There may have been several reasons why this occurred. She may have suffered a medical condition or fallen asleep at the wheel. There may have been a vehicle defect or a mechanical malfunction in the Lumina that caused it to go out of control. The Lumina may have been cut off or run off the roadway by another driver.
An Experienced Personal Injury Lawyer Can Help
In such cases, injured victims would be well-advised to contact a skilled San Diego personal injury lawyer, who will analyze all facets of the accident and determine whether there was any negligence or wrongdoing involved. If the driver of the Lumina is determined to have been at fault, she could be held liable for the injuries and damages caused to the driver of the Honda. Injured victims in such cases, could seek compensation for medical expenses, lost earnings, cost of hospitalization, rehabilitation and other related damages.
