Fiery Crash Results in Two Injuries

January 18, 2012--Montclair, CA--a semi truck crashed into at least two other vehicles on Interstate 10 in Montclair on January 17 at just after 11:00 p.m., resulting in a fiery explosion, which resulted in non-life-threatening injuries to at least two people.

Authorities said that a Mercedes sedan struck the semi truck, sending it swerving into another lane to strike a Nissan sedan.  The truck hit the center divider and spilled diesel fuel into the oncoming lanes of traffic, and caught fire.

Fortunately, a passerby was able to rescue the driver of the truck, who was airlifted to a local hospital along with the driver of one of the cars.  Both are said to be in stable condition and will make a recovery from their injuries.

I am glad that both victims were quickly rescued and could be treated for their injuries, and that this California truck accident involved no loss of life.  I want to offer my prayers for the victim's full recovery, as well. More

Hit-and-Run Car Accident in Los Angeles Kills Pedestrian

A hit-and-run car accident in Los Angeles left a man in his 30s fatally injured the night of March 18, 2011. City News Service reports that the fatal car versus pedestrian accident happened near the intersection of Compton Avenue and East 74th Street. Officials say that a Chevy Suburban, whose driver they suspect was under the influence, struck another vehicle and the pedestrian. The driver then abandoned his vehicle and fled the scene on foot. But, he was arrested shortly afterward and arrested on suspicion of DUI. An investigation is ongoing.

San Francisco Area Car Accident Seriously Injures Bicyclist

Gregory Hamby, 18, was seriously injured in a San Francisco area car accident after his bicycle was hit by another vehicle. According to a Bay City News report, the injury bicycle accident occurred the afternoon of January 7, 2011. Hamby was riding his bicycle along the shoulder of eastbound River Road in Santa Rosa, when a Chevy Tahoe SUV driven by 32-year-old David Oldaker, also eastbound on River, struck him. Hamby sustained major injuries and was taken to a local hospital. Police say Hamby was wearing safety equipment. They are looking into whether Hamby rode his bicycle into the path of the SUV. An investigation is ongoing.
