San Francisco Area Bus Accident Proves Fatal

A 21-year-old man was killed and five others were injured in a San Francisco area car accident the afternoon of June 29, 2011. According to an article in The Reporter, the fatal bus accident occurred at the intersection of Walters Road and Pintail Drive in Suisun City, when a Toyota Supra crashed into a Fairfield and Suisin Transit bus.

The driver of the bus and three passengers sustained non-life-threatening injuries while two men in the Toyota suffered major injuries. One of them later died at the hospital. Officials say the Toyota was traveling south on Walters when it crashed into the transit bus that was turning left from northbound Walters onto Pintail. The men in the Toyota suffered head injuries and massive leg injuries, officials said. An investigation is ongoing.

One person was injured in a San Francisco car accident involving a Golden Gate Transit bus and a van. According to a Bay City News report, the injury car accident occurred the morning of April 5, 2011 on Doyle Drive near the Golden Gate Bridge. City News Service reports that the injury pedestrian accident happened at 12th and Olive streets. The injured woman was taken to an area hospital with unknown injuries. Fresno School Bus Accident Injures 17 Children

Seventeen children were injured in a Fresno school bus accident the afternoon of August 24, 2010. According to an Associated Press news report, the injury crash occurred when the bus driver, 25-year-old Shaneka Love, struck a tree while backing up in a parking lot. The seventeen students were treated for minor injuries resulting from the collision. The news report states that Love decided to take the children back to school after a "commotion broke out" on the bus that had just left the campus. Many children sustained cuts and bruises. None of the injuries is believed to be life-threatening. Love has been put on a paid leave of absence while officials investigate this school bus accident.
