May 13, 2012--KABC reports that a Lexus crashed through a retaining wall and into the pool of a La Puente home on Sunday.

A silver Lexus driven by an unidentified individual left Barry Dale Street and crashed through a wall that surrounded an area home.  The driver crashed the car into the pool but was rescued without significant injury.  The driver was charged with driving under the influence.  The car has been removed from the pool, and Los Angeles police are investigating the circumstances of the Los Angeles car accident to determine what caused the driver to veer off the road.

No other injuries were reported in connection with the accident.

I want to express my sincere relief that no one was seriously hurt in what could have been a terrible accident.

Accident Statistics

Mothers Against Drunk Drivers, or MADD, is an organization dedicated to compiling information and educating the public about the dangers of drinking and driving.  According to MADD, the average drunk driver has actually driven under the influence 80 times before first being arrested, statistics based on information from the Centers for Disease Control.  MADD also estimates that one in three people will be involved in an alcohol-related car accident during their lifetimes, either as an intoxicated driver or a victim of a drunk driver. The Aftermath Following an Irvine Rear End Car Accident

Irvine Rear End Car Accident CaliforniaIf you have been involved in an Irvine rear end car accident, you should know that you may be entitled to damages if you have sustained injuries.  Damages may include payments for property damage such as the damage done to your car as well as personal injury damages for your physical trauma.  You may even be entitled to payment for ongoing and future medical treatment for conditions such as whiplash.

California Rear end car accidents in Irvine are among the most common types of car accidents, and occur when one driver fails to maintain control of his or her vehicle and hits another from behind.  In many cases these accidents only cause minor injuries, but in some cases the damage is significant, both to the physical property and to the driver of the front car.  The force with which another vehicle can strike a car from the rear may cause the driver to "whiplash" back and forth from the impact and the following inertia.  When this happens, the driver’s neck may be severely injured.  If the impact is severe, other injuries may also follow, such as compression injuries from the driver or passenger being thrown against a seat belt or injured when airbags suddenly inflate.  Although these safety devices are designed to help save the life of a passenger in the event of an accident, they can still cause significant bodily injury when the person is thrown against them with sudden force.  "Passive restraints," as these devices are known, are designed to keep passengers in vehicles from being ejected from the car or slamming into a dashboard or sidewall, and not necessarily to protect them from the tremendous forces involved in a rear-end crash. Getting the Help You Need After a California Car Accident

This year, thousands of Californians will be involved in car accidents of varying levels of severity.  In fact, about one in five residents of California will probably suffer in some form of car accident this year.  With twenty percent of our residents facing this problem, California car accident attorneys should be contacted constantly about injuries sustained in car accidents and how to pursue a case for damages.  Instead, many car accident victims will go quietly about their business, never attempting to collect damages for the injuries they have sustained.

Part of the reason for this lies in the perception the public has of personal injury attorneys and what they actually do.  Many people believe that if you consult a personal injury lawyer you are trying to "get something for nothing" and sue some poor, innocent person who happened to bump into your car.  These people would tell you that personal injury lawyers are unethical people who are ready to jump into a lawsuit for no reason other than to make money.

Certainly there have been lawsuits filed that did not have much merit on the face of the matter.  However, this attitude discounts the vast majority of cases in which the victim has suffered true injuries that are being ignored by a defendant or his or her agents.  It is very possible for a victim to suffer serious injury in a car accident or other type of personal injury accident and to be told that insurance companies "don’t pay for that type of injury."  If the victim does not know any better, he or she may believe this is the truth and never recover the money for a legitimate claim. A Beginner's Guide to Driving A Car

While the most common new driver is a 16 year old kid, there are still many adults that have yet to get in a car and drive due to lack of necessity.  Even though it may not be needed, many people want to get their license because it can provide them a new skill and independence they would not otherwise have.  It is important to get started driving at some point in one’s life, and with a little help and direction it can be much easier than a lot of people think.

Most people will simply take what they can get, but the most important part of learning to drive is getting the right car.  Usually it is best to learn with an automatic transmission since the individual would not have to learn two things at once.  Also some people will get easily discouraged when using a manual shift since stalling out and missing gears can be frightening and very dangerous based on where it happens.  It is also useful to learn to drive using a car that has been properly taken care of so bad brakes or a sticky accelerator do not cause an accident or problem when transitioning from one car to another. Westminster is a freeway city teeming with life. However, as with any place or situation, a freeway city like Westminster can have all manner of car crashes. Even a minor smash turns the world around for those involved. BISNAR | CHASE understands when a traffic accident has occurred and the challenges faced by families are incredible. As with other types of collisions, figuring out accountability in a travel mishap is a matter of deciding who was careless. In many cases ordinary explanations will tell you that a driver, cyclist, or pedestrian acted hurriedly, but you may not know what laws or rules that person violated. Your clash with an insurance group that another person was at fault for a crash can be strengthened if you find some "official" support for your conclusion.

If you have been involved in a car accident, please call us at 1-866-990-8787 or contact us for a free case evaluation and more information regarding your specific situation.

Have you been in a car accident? Establish who's at fault in a car, motorcycle, or bicycle accident. As with other types of accidents, figuring out liability in a travel accident is a matter of deciding who was negligent. In many cases common sense will tell you that a driver, cyclist, or pedestrian acted hastily, but you may not know what laws or regulations that person violated. Your quarrel to an insurance group that another person was at fault for a collision can be strengthened if you find some "official" support for your conclusion.
