According to an ABC news report, the major injury collision occurred on Pear Tree Lane near Villa Lane in Napa. The boy's body was thrown onto the windshield of a parked SUV, officials say. The driver who struck him fled the scene of the crash. Officials say the victim suffered major head injuries. He is not believed to have been biking or skateboarding at the time. A female and male driver were injured in a Ventura car accident involving a rear-end collision. According to a news report in The Ventura County Star, the injury crash occurred on North Ventura Avenue near the Villanova Curve in Ojai, the morning of October 8, 2011. The woman was driving on North Ventura when her car was rear-ended by an SUV. The male driver of the SUV left the scene of the crash. He, however, lost control of his vehicle shortly afterward, went off the roadway, hit a tree and rolled over. Both drivers suffered injuries in the crash. The driver of the SUV was cited for hit-and-run causing injury.

Man Killed in Inglewood Car Accident

Jose Asuncion Aguirre, 61, was killed in a Los Angeles car accident after he was hit by a Lexus while loading groceries into his truck, the afternoon of September 20, 2011. According to a news report in the Daily Breeze, the fatal car accident occurred at the El Super Market on West Century Boulevard in Inglewood. Police said Aguirre was loading groceries into the back of his Ford Ranger pickup truck, when the driver of a 2000 Lexus struck the Ford and knocked the victim into the path of a 2001 GMC Yukon. The driver of the Lexus fled the scene.

Aguirre suffered major trauma to his upper body and was pronounced dead at a local hospital. The driver of the Lexus returned to the scene 30 minutes later. Authorities have not charged the driver as the investigation is ongoing. Officials say the driver hit the gas pedal instead of the brake while parking in a stall in front of where Aguirre was at the time of the collision.

The teen driver crashed through a gate and into a parking lot, striking two pedestrians and destroying a taco stand.

A girl sustained critical injuries in a Los Angeles car accident, which officials say, was caused by an elderly hit-and-run driver. According to a news report in the Daily Breeze, the major injury collision occurred the afternoon of April 7, 2011 at the intersection of Emerald Street and Madrona Avenue in Torrance. Police say the 83-year-old man driving the vehicle struck the girl who was riding her bicycle and then took off. He was followed by witnesses who called police. Officers were able to arrest the driver a short distance away. Police say they plan on filing felony hit-and-run charges.
