A bicyclist was injured in a Nevada County car accident, which officials say involved a hit-and-run driver. According to a KTVN news report, the bicycle accident occurred at the intersection of Donner Pass Road and Northwoods Boulevard, near Truckee, in Nevada County, the evening of July 10, 2011. The victim was riding a bike through the intersection when a car driven by Miguel Martinez-Lopez, 43, struck him. The bike rider suffered facial and head injuries. Martinez-Lopez allegedly fled after an ambulance approached the scene. He faces multiple charges including leaving the scene of a crash, driving without a license and driving without insurance.

Two pedestrians were injured in a Los Angeles car accident, which officials say, was caused by a teen who left the scene of the crash. According to a City News Service report, the injury pedestrian accident occurred near the intersection of 59th Place and Broadway the night of June 2, 2011. The teen was apparently getting a driving lesson with her father in the front passenger seat and another teenage woman in the backseat. The teen driver crashed through a gate and into a parking lot, striking two pedestrians and destroying a taco stand.
The two teens fled on foot, while the dad drove the car away from the scene. The girls were pursued by others and brought back to the scene of the crash. The father was also followed by another driver and brought back to the scene. The two pedestrians were hospitalized with serious injuries. The teen driver is facing felony hit-and-run charges. Walter Barrett, 53, sustained fatal injuries in a San Francisco car accident, which officials say, involved a hit-and-run driver. According to an Associated Press news report, the fatal hit-and-run car accident occurred on Highway 280 in Daly City the morning of April 10, 2011.
California Highway Patrol officials say Barrett was walking along the shoulder of the highway and apparently tried to walk across the roadway when he was struck by a gray 2009 Toyota Corolla. Barrett crashed through the windshield of the Toyota and died from his injuries. The driver of the Toyota fled the scene of the car accident. A girl sustained critical injuries in a Los Angeles car accident, which officials say, was caused by an elderly hit-and-run driver. According to a news report in the Daily Breeze, the major injury collision occurred the afternoon of April 7, 2011 at the intersection of Emerald Street and Madrona Avenue in Torrance. Police say the 83-year-old man driving the vehicle struck the girl who was riding her bicycle and then took off. He was followed by witnesses who called police. Officers were able to arrest the driver a short distance away. Police say they plan on filing felony hit-and-run charges.

Two emergency responders were injured in a Los Angeles car accident, which officials say, involved a hit-and-run driver. According to a City News Service report, the injury car accident occurred at the intersection of 108th Street and Wilmington Avenue in Watts. A Dodge Caravan broadsided the ambulance carrying the two responders the night of March 26, 2011. The driver of the ambulance and a paramedic in the back of the ambulance were identified as the injured victims. Thankfully, the patient who was being transported was uninjured. The driver of the van left the scene of the crash on foot. Police are still looking for the hit-and-run driver.

Mathew R. Ogle, 17, was killed in a hit-and-run car accident in San Bernardino the evening of March 1, 2011. According to a news report in The San Bernardino County Sun, the fatal accident occurred near the intersection of Encelia Road and Two Mile Road when Ogle's Honda CRF 150 off-road motorcycle was broadsided by another vehicle. Ogle was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver did not stop and fled before authorities arrived on scene.
