Melissa N. Ferreira, 25, was killed in a San Diego car accident when a vehicle hit her and a male pedestrian, during the early hours of November 19, 2011. According to a 10News report, the pedestrian accident occurred in front of the El Cajon Grand Bar on Main Street in El Cajon. Officials say the two pedestrians were crossing the street when a Mitsubishi Montero struck them. Ferreira suffered blunt force trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The male victim sustained injuries not believed to be life-threatening. The driver of the SUV has not been charged for the collision and the authorities do not suspect that alcohol was a contributing factor in the accident.
